Artist
Timothy Gierschick is a contemporary artist and muralist whose vibrant works on panel and paper portray his simultaneously considered and instinctual technique. Gierschick has discussed this dual nature and how his approach to making art varies based on the impulses of any given time combined with his personal encyclopedia of material. His formal decisions within art are largely intuitive, deciding one color based upon the last, and then the next shape upon the first, and so on, until a particular conversation is finished. Yet, his work stands apart in its ability to synthesize the physical and symbolic worlds in such a way that challenges the viewer’s initial perception.
His paintings and works on paper have been exhibited and collected both nationally and internationally, including by Duane Morris LLP offices worldwide, and Capital One Bank NA. Timothy earned his Bachelor of Arts, concentrating in Printmaking, from Messiah College in 2000. He is also employed by the Barnes Foundation as preparator.
Gierschick currently lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is represented by ParisTexasLA Gallery in Los Angeles.
